Stephenson Harwood advises Cetus Maritime on acquisition of Nachipa Corp

公司事务 | 20/03/2024

Stephenson Harwood has advised longstanding client Cetus Maritime on its acquisition of Chile-based Nachipa Corp.

One of the largest private dry bulk handysize players in the market, Cetus Maritime was formed from the merger between Asia Maritime Pacific and Hamburg Bulk Carriers and is on a fast track of expansion and market consolidation, a deal upon which Stephenson Harwood advised. Nachipa is a shipowner-operator based in Chile specialising in dry bulk cargo. With the addition of Nachipa’s Japanese-built, modern handysize vessels, Cetus Maritime’s fleet will comprise 65 ships, of which 75% will be eco-vessels.

The Stephenson Harwood team was co-led by Southeast Asia Head of M&A Tom Platts and shipping and offshore finance partner Pedram Norton, and Cetus Maritime's Hong Kong-based relationship partner Andrew Rigden Green with of counsel Helen Rhind-Hufnagel and associates Harry Wilson, Romie Yeo and Anya Parekh.
