Judgment handed down in Malik v Malik
Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised a longstanding client, Mr Malik, on a successful outcome in Malik v Malik [2025] EWHC 2485 (Ch), a heavily-contested jurisdiction challenge arising from a complex family dispute.
The High Court ruled that England was not the appropriate forum (forum conveniens) for the proceedings, that service (if even effected) should be set aside, and further that the claim was strikeable on the grounds of abuse of process.
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by partner Adam Polonsky, who instructed James Kinman of Maitland Chambers. James has appeared in a number of connected applications relating to the underlying claim.
