On the contentious side, Menelaus has an emphasis on maritime and trade disputes with extensive experience representing clients at the High Court (including injunctive relief) and before numerous arbitral bodies such as LMAA, ICC, and LCIA tribunals. Menelaus also specialises in enforcement action and is regularly instructed in relation to vessel arrests, attachments and asset tracing.
In terms of non-contentious matters, Menelaus regularly advises clients on commercial contracts and preparation of bespoke terms and conditions. He is also active in sale and purchase deals with a particular focus on asset finance. Menelaus also provides regular advice in respect of various international sanctions regimes.
In addition, Menelaus has broad experience protecting his clients’ interests in complex cross-border insolvencies, with a focus on the UNCITRAL model law.
Menelaus is a Lord Denning Scholar of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn and was called to the bar prior to being admitted as a solicitor.
