Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has supported Jan De Nul Group, a leading expert in the offshore energy market, on its long-term partnership agreement with RWE, a German energy provider, for future offshore wind foundation and turbine construction.
The firm assisted Jan De Nul during the contract negotiations – which includes the long-term charter of two next-generation installation vessels, Les Alizés and Voltaire, for future offshore wind foundation and turbine construction – as well as an associated services agreement through which Jan De Nul will provide both in-house and market solutions and services, to support and perform installation campaigns for RWE’s offshore wind projects.
"This is a landmark deal within the offshore wind market in terms of magnitude and scope, as well as the ground-breaking nature of the vessels being deployed," said Max Lemanski, Stephenson Harwood partner and head of the firm's offshore energy and construction group. "We were pleased to have supported Jan De Nul on this long-term partnership, and provide our long-standing expertise in, and experience of, the offshore energy, wind and decarbonisation sectors."
The Stephenson Harwood offshore energy team comprised partners Max Lemanski and Kirsty MacHardy and associate David Wilson. Further assistance was provided by IP partner Rob Jacob and managing associate Joshua Cunnington, and finance partner Jon Cripps.
