Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Polymateria Limited, the UK-based biodegradable plastic technology company which tackles plastic pollution globally, on its recent Series B funding round.
The funding, which raised £20 million, was led by Singapore-based impact private equity firm ABC Impact and sustainable chemical company Indorama Ventures. Polymateria will use this funding to accelerate the commercialisation of its technology on a global scale and expand into new markets, as well as enhance its research and development capabilities.
Polymateria’s biotransformation technology can fully biodegrade plastic in the open environment without leaving any microplastic or toxic residue.
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by private equity partner Richard Coleman, who was supported by associate Alex Stevens.
