Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Altitude Group, France’s largest fibre infrastructure operator, on its acquisition of Phibee Telecom, a Paris-based telecommunications wholesaler which provides network access and interconnection solutions to international operators.
Founded in 1990 by Jean-Paul Rivière, Altitude Group comprises more than 1,400 employees, spread across its subsidiaries: Altitude Infra, an independent telecommunications infrastructure operator in France and expert in fibre optics; Covage, the B2B wholesale operator; and Linkt, the B2B telecommunications services commercial operator which has 25 branches throughout France.
This transaction will enable Altitude Group to increase its market share by appealing to international operators who require services in France.
"This is an exciting acquisition for Altitude as it pursues its long-term growth and investment strategy," said Guillaume Briant, partner, Stephenson Harwood. "We've seen an increase in the demand for technology and telecommunications expertise, as digital transformation continues to accelerate, and we were pleased to assist on this strategic deal."
The Stephenson Harwood Paris team was led by M&A and private equity partner Guillaume Briant and associate Ali Hilass, who assisted on the corporate aspects of the transaction.
