Caroline is a managing associate in the dispute resolution team in Dubai and represents clients in international arbitration, litigation and investigations. She has been based in the UAE since 2019.

Caroline advises on high-value and complex litigation, arbitration and regulatory investigations. She acts for clients across a range of industry sectors including construction, oil and gas, financial services, life sciences, sports and aviation.

Caroline has acted on commercial and investment treaty arbitration claims under all of the main institutional rules, including the ICC, LCIA, DIFC-LCIA, ICSID, UNCITRAL and HKIAC rules.

Caroline’s experience also includes advising on contentious insolvency matters and complex fraud matters, often involving cross border issues.

Prior to relocating to the UAE, Caroline trained and qualified as a lawyer in London and additionally spent two years practicing in Hong Kong.

Acting for the interim receivers appointed by the High Court of Hong Kong over a private equity fund in defending a high-value and complex ICC arbitration claim.

ICSID arbitration

Acting for a South American government entity in the oil and gas industry in defending an ICSID claim for expropriation of assets that had been held by a foreign investor.

HKIAC arbitration

Managing the defence of a HKIAC arbitration brought by a software manufacturer against a bank for compensation allegedly owed for software development and implementation services.

Fraud litigation – Ponzi scheme

Acting for a group of individuals in bringing a successful claim against an individual and group of companies in the High Court of Hong Kong for their role in a suspected Ponzi scheme.

Fraud litigation - cybercrime

Acting for a US company in bringing a fraud claim against overseas entities involved in a cybercrime scam.

ICC arbitration – fraud

Acting for the interim receivers appointed by the High Court of Hong Kong over a private equity fund in defending a high-value and complex ICC arbitration claim which included extensive allegations of fraud.
