Landlord and tenant

Our work acting for landlords and tenants is a key component of our premier league real estate practice.

Our team has an excellent reputation for offering pragmatic, commercially focused advice.

We have thrived and grown in an exceptionally demanding market place by providing intelligible advice on complex projects swiftly and accurately, using the law to get the job done not as an excuse for delay.

With our work for landlord clients we provide the service to help them enhance and manage their assets to the full potential in an efficient manner. When a client makes an investment acquisition we see this as the start of an association, not the end, and following the acquisition we assist the client with implementing their strategy for the asset.

With our work for corporate occupier tenants we secure for them institutionally acceptable forms of leases and ensure they are clear as to the key obligations they are taking on. We also advise clients on how best to achieve lease flexibility for future expansion and/or contraction.

Whether managing the leases at a shopping centre or multi-let office building, pre-letting a development scheme, structuring finance leases or advising occupiers on a new headquarters, one of their most important financial commitments, we are commercially astute and market aware on behalf of our clients.

Our talented and committed real estate team is supported by top flight lawyers also in litigation, construction, planning, environment and tax

Our landlord and tenant work includes:

  • negotiating leases and ancillary documents
  • regears and variations
  • management of the investment
  • sale and leaseback structures
  • enforcement against tenants in default
  • pre-lets and forward funding structures.

"The solicitors involved in our work are very competent and progressive looking at the wider picture in order to move transactions along to a successful conclusion."
