Deutsche Bank AG, $1.2 billion loan for 12 container ships

Advised on a multi-tranche syndicated K-sure backed loan facility for the partial financing of seven 14,500 and five 18,800 TEU container ships for wholly-owned subsidiaries of United Arab Shipping Company.

Wells Fargo, £200 million WELPUT mixed use refinancing, West End

Acting for Wells Fargo on the £200 million refinancing of WELPUT, Schroders’ West End of London Property Unit Trust, secured against six mixed use properties valued at £700 million.

Alliance Laundry Systems, European vendor finance and $400 million securitisation

Advised US commercial laundry equipment manufacturer Alliance Laundry Systems LLC on the establishment of a European vendor finance programme as well as the English and French aspects of its securitisation.

Japanese multinational bank

Advising financiers on JOLCO financings for multiple aircraft.

Restructuring of Monarch Airlines

We advised the Pension Protection Fund on this major restructuring, advising in connection with the restructuring of the very substantial pension deficit to facilitate the sale of the business. We also advised one of the main aircraft lessors.

Middle East finance company

We advised on the finance of the acquisition of shares in an English company involving a mix of compliant and non-compliant investment structures in England and Luxembourg.

Rolling stock leasing transactions

Advising a wide range of financiers on their bids to procure, finance and lease rolling stock, both for new-build fleets as well as existing fleets, including advising a bidder for the world's largest rolling stock project to date – the £5 billion+ PPP project to provide 3,600 vehicles to PRASA in South Africa.

Export-import Asian bank sale and leaseback deal

We acted on a $1 billion post-delivery loan to a subsidiary of a financial leasing company for the acquisition of 51 vessels to be bareboat chartered to the Bourbon Offshore Group of France.

Global banks, entries into European market

Advising a significant number of financiers on their entry into the rolling stock leasing market, ranging from initial sector legal due diligence to portfolio acquisitions and financings.

Lavendon Group plc, extending and re-negotiating revolving credit facilities

We advised on the existing £50 million and €60 million revolving facilities and in issuing new loan notes by US Private Placement with a value of €35 million, involving close co-ordination with lawyers across the US, Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
