Sunita leads Stephenson Harwood’s Middle East private wealth practice, where the team focus on assisting clients in the Middle East, Africa and South West Asia on cross border private client, corporate, commercial and dispute resolution issues.

Sunita has established intrinsic relationships with private banks, financial advisers, corporate service providers and the local regulatory authorities. Sunita actively works with the local regulators to spread awareness in India and the GCC of the latest developments and updates within the private wealth sector, particularly in relation to the new Foundations regimes implemented bv the ADGM, RAK ICC and DIFC.

As an active member of the private wealth community Sunita is a full member of STEP (Africa and Arabia) and speaks at various international forums and conferences in the Middle East and South West Asia.  Sunita assists clients and advisers with topical matters in the UAE and GCC such as Succession Planning, Wealth Management as well as the implementation of Family Codes of Governance and Family Constitutions.

Sunita recently participated Jersey Finance's "Women in Wealth Management" initiative in the GCC and was the key speaker at their flagship 2019 event on "Globalisation of Wealth".

Sunita is widely regarded as a leading authority within the private wealth community, which is reflected through her being recognised by Chambers & Partners High Net Worth Guide 2020 as a ranked individual within the UAE.

She is also routinely the recipient of many awards and nominations within the legal sector. Most recently, she has been shortlisted as "Inspirational Woman of the Year" in the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2020 and was awarded Young Lawyer of the Year (Non-resident Indian) by the Indian National Bar Association (INBA) in November 2019.  Sunita has been named a key India Lawyer in both the Indian Business Law Journal's 2019 Report and the Global Stars Report 2017.

She also actively promotes women empowerment for young professionals in India and the Middle East and is a professional mentor for female executives too.

Including liaising with creditors and instructing counsel in Oman and the Isle of Man and making applications to the Courts of the Isle of Man and appointing liquidators in the Isle of Man.
