Advised on a case involving the construction of a restriction in a power of amendment where we successfully acted for the Trustees. The case is now due to go to the Court of Appeal this year.

Advising clients on recent claims involving transfers of DC benefits, communications of benefit entitlements, allocation of death benefits and entitlement to incapacity benefits.

Advising sponsors on a number of ways in which they can improve the funding position and security of their arrangements through the use of assets in a way which does not hand over control.
Catchpole v Alitalia Airlines Pension Scheme
A rare example of a member using estoppel successfully to establish an entitlement to a benefit where we acted for the member. This is a leading case on this complex area of law.
