Helen is an M&A specialist advising on cross-border transactions across Southeast Asia, often involving European and US parties. Clients respect Helen's pragmatic, commercial approach whilst remaining astute to cultural sensitivities. Helen also advises extensively on compliance issues across the region, in particular anti-money laundering and anti-bribery.

Having worked in Asia for over 19 years, Helen has extensive experience of advising on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings across Southeast Asia and further afield. Advising clients across a broad range of industries, she is a lead member of our Southeast Asian M&A practice, focusing on foreign investment. Recent renewable energy transactions include advising TotalEnergies on its onsite B2B solar distribution generation joint venture with ENEOS and associated commercial arrangements; advising LOGOS on its regional renewable energy platform joint venture with ENGIE; and advising ENGIE on the disposal of its solar energy investment in Myanmar. Regional telco experience includes advising regional players on various subsea cable M&A transactions; advising Axiata Group on its Laotian telco tower joint venture; advising a European development bank on its telco tower investment in Indonesia; and advising Axiata, Myanmar Investments International and local Myanmar companies on various telco tower M&A transactions in Myanmar. Other sectors where Helen has recently advised clients include advising Swiss digital media group Ringier AG on acquisitions in Singapore and Myanmar; advising New Forests on plantation forestry M&A transactions in Laos and Malaysia; and advising AxiomSL on regional aspects of its merger with Calypso to create the Adenza software application provider. Helen is knowledgeable about development banks' requirements, having recently advised various DFIs on investments in sectors ranging from digital operating systems to microfinance to agricultural, as well as on implementing a national insolvency registry.

Helen frequently provides training on practical corporate and commercial law topics.

Helen's prior private practice experience with leading firms in London and Germany is complemented by extensive commercial experience as in-house counsel and a member of the diagnostics management team with listed multinational pharmaceutical company, Roche.
