Hayley's experience includes acting for and advising commodity traders, agribusinesses, natural resources companies, shipowners, charterers, P&I clubs, cargo interests and shipyards on a range of issues and disputes arising from sale of goods contracts, charterparties, bills of lading, bunker supply contracts, shipbuilding and superyacht contracts and various financing agreements. She has been praised for her technical understanding and ability to transfer that into practical advice for her clients.

She has represented clients across a range of arbitral forums, including LCIA, SIAC, ICC and LMAA, as well as in High Court litigation in the Commercial Court and the Admiralty Court. She also has experience of mediation and settlement negotiations.

Advising various international trading and shipping companies in numerous LMAA arbitrations covering all aspects of dry shipping (charterparties, COAs and bills of lading).

Advising the defendant yacht owner in BVI Court proceedings concerning a helicopter accident at sea off the coast of Norway.

Advising a Korean shipbuilder as English co-counsel in respect of warranty claims arising out of alleged defects in the cargo containment systems of two LNG carrier newbuilds.

Demurrage and freight

Advising the shipping arm of one of the world's largest energy and commodities trading houses in relation to its outstanding demurrage and freight files.
