An experienced private wealth advisor, Emily provides international tax and private wealth advice to families and trustees of family trusts on a variety of issues, including moving to the UK; the use of wealth preservation structures such as offshore trusts, foundations and companies; the ownership of UK residential property and tax disclosures and the reporting of beneficial ownership under the various global initiatives.

She advises clients on the law of domicile and residency, including ensuring the availability of tax efficient sources of funds to draw on after becoming UK residents.

Emily is an expert on international pension schemes and other remuneration structures and advises on IPPs, EFRBS, QROPS and QNUPS, acting for both scheme trustees and their members.

Individual/family and foreign domiciliary tax planning

Providing tax advice for a wide variety of families and the trustees of family trusts in a number of jurisdictions in respect of the various issues they encounter when living or investing in the UK.

Inheritance tax and succession planning

Setting up family trusts and other wealth preservation structures for high net worth families including inheritance tax planning for both UK resident and non-resident settlors and beneficiaries.

Tax investigations and disclosures

Advising clients with unpaid liabilities including declaring the assets and liabilities to HMRC and reaching a settlement. Also using the various disclosure facilities to regularise unpaid liabilities.

Advising on the most tax efficient means of acquiring and holding UK property, both for personal occupation and investment, taking into account CGT, IHT, ATED, SDLT and VAT.

Residency planning

Advising individuals leaving the UK on how to ensure they become non-UK resident and non-UK individuals coming to the UK on how to structure their assets, both held personally and via family trusts before their arrival.
