Andrew specialises in trade finance, acting for banks, trading houses and businesses across the global commodities supply chain. He advises on the full spectrum of trade finance structures, including traditional facilities, prepayment agreements, receivables financing and repos. In addition, he has experience advising clients on innovative digital trade projects.

Andrew's trade finance experience includes drafting and negotiating contracts regarding the financing of a wide range of commodities, often in relation to emerging markets. In addition to advising on the terms of financing arrangements, Andrew has experience drafting a wide range of associated contracts, including a wide range of security documentation, including assignments, charges, debentures and parent company guarantees.

Andrew's work on the digital trade side includes assisting clients setting up digital platforms, drafting user agreements and advising on the rapidly evolving legal issues that arise.

Alongside trade finance, Andrew has experience advising commodities clients on the UK and EU financial regulatory perimeter issues that they face, including advise on trading commodity derivatives and whether FCA permissions are required.

Drafting and advising on trade finance arrangements is often linked to underlying commercial contracts for the sale and purchase of the financed commodities. Andrew has experience drafting and negotiating such commercial contracts, in particular LNG master sale and purchase contracts (MSPAs).
