Stephenson Harwood strengthens corporate practice with partner hires

International law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has appointed Geoff Gouriet and Sam Gray as partners to its London corporate practice. Both join on 11 November 2014 from Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co, where Geoff was head of the corporate team.

Geoff specialises in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and equity capital markets-related work. He has advised on a wide range of AIM and Main Market transactions and listings, either acting for the company concerned or their investment bank/brokers, and regularly advises on large M&A transactions, both within the UK and internationally. He has particular experience in the energy and natural resources and insurance sectors.

Sam specialises in M&A (both public and private), capital raising, joint ventures and advice on private equity transactions. Sam's clients include institutional investors, banks/brokers, corporates and management teams across a variety of sectors including healthcare, financial services, technology and natural resources. He has particular experience within the insurance broking sector.

Stephenson Harwood was recently highlighted as one of the firms to have advised on the highest number of issuer-side mandates so far in 2014, and has grown its AIM practice significantly in the past year, meaning it is now fourth out of all UK law firms in terms of total number of AIM clients.

Andrew Edge, head of corporate at Stephenson Harwood, commented "We are delighted that Geoff and Sam will be joining us. Their sector specific experience complements our existing expertise well and so we look forward to offering clients an even broader range of high quality corporate advice."
