Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its finance capabilities with the appointment of Don Brown as partner in its London office.
Brown has a broad experience of advising clients in relation to secured lending, and particular expertise in receivables financing, asset-based lending and speciality finance. He advises both lenders and borrowers on a wide variety of bilateral and syndicated financings, refinancings and restructurings. He joins the firm from Ashurst.
“Our clients come to us for the strength and depth of our experience, and for our genuine commercial insight,” said Tammy Samuel, head of finance, Stephenson Harwood. “Don joining our team brings specialty finance expertise, building on our receivables finance and asset-based lending capabilities and enhancing our one-stop-shop debt offering. We pride ourselves on our client-centric approach, and the combination of Don’s in-house and private practice experience will bring a further dimension to the team’s understanding of clients’ commercial priorities.”
“Don’s expertise in receivables financing, asset-based lending and speciality finance will provide a link in our finance department between banking and asset finance, which are strong practice areas in their own right,” said Lisa Marks, head of general leasing, Stephenson Harwood. “He also will bring with him asset finance experience which will enable us to further develop that area of our finance practice.”
Stephenson Harwood's international finance practice acts for international banks, investment companies, other corporates, lessors, funds and other stakeholders on challenging transactions which often involve novel instruments or structures.
