Stephenson Harwood promotes six to partnership

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has promoted six lawyers in its latest round of internal partner promotions. They will take effect on 1 May 2020.

“Bringing through home grown high performing lawyers is a priority for me, and is reflected in the number of talent-related projects which I have been working on since I took over as CEO in October last year,” said Eifion Morris, Chief Executive, Stephenson Harwood. “These newly promoted lawyers have consistently demonstrated the hard work, commitment and ambition that I expect from our people. They are equally spread across both contentious and transactional teams which reflects the hedged nature of our businesses, something which has both contributed to our success and ensures we’re in a position of strength to face the current pandemic. I am particularly pleased that this promotion round – with lawyers in London and Hong Kong – also reflects our history as an European/Asian law firm and our continued focus in both regions.”

Jonathan Bridcut has been named a partner in the firm’s corporate practice. Based in London, he specialises in private M&A, joint ventures and corporate reorganisations across a wide range of sectors, with a particular focus on real estate and healthcare.

Michelle Chung has been named a partner in the firm's Hong Kong partnership. She is a member of the corporate team specialising in corporate finance, capital market matters, corporate restructuring and regulatory compliance.

Ashley Davidson has been named a partner in the firm’s real estate practice. Based in London, he is a commercial property lawyer, who specialises in development projects and investment transactions, acting for major pension funds, financial institutions and investors.

Eloise Matsui has been named a partner in the firm's Hong Kong partnership. She is a member of the litigation team, specialising in restructuring and insolvency matters. She acts for foreign companies, Hong Kong listed and private companies, creditors and insolvency practitioners in debt restructurings, insolvency scenarios and any associated litigation.

Elizabeth Sloane has been named a partner in the firm's Hong Kong partnership. She is a member of the litigation team, specialising in complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration. She has extensive experience in a range of commercial disputes, including cross-border fraud, corporate insolvency, and marine litigation and arbitration.

Alexander Tang has been named a partner in the firm's Hong Kong partnership. He is a member of the litigation team, specialising in insolvency and commercial litigation. He also has extensive experience in shareholder disputes, construction arbitration and defamation.
