Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has announced that Louis Flannery, partner and head of the firm's international arbitration group, will be appointed Queen's Counsel at a ceremony to be held on Monday 26 February 2018.

"I am deeply honoured to have had this formal recognition of my advocacy skills," said Louis Flannery, partner, Stephenson Harwood. "To be considered of equal rank to the best of the Bar is a source of great pride."

"This achievement is testament to Louis' outstanding skills as an advocate," said Sharon White, CEO, Stephenson Harwood. "I am thrilled that Louis has received this well-deserved recognition, and look forward to his continuing to lead the firm's international arbitration practice as it tackles some of the most high-profile and significant matters of current times."

Flannery specialises in arbitration and litigation, with a particular focus on fraud and conflict law issues. He has extensive experience of international commercial arbitration under the major institutional rules (AAA, ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, among others) as well as substantial High Court litigation in England. He has undertaken advocacy before international tribunals and courts, including the High Court and Court of Appeal.
