12 Stephenson Harwood lawyers have been named Thomson Reuters Stand-out Lawyers in 2023. Partners Peter Bennett, Helena Berman, Rob Jacob, Ian Mace, Jenny McKeown, Tom Nicholls, Tammy Samuel, Nick Sharratt, Penelope Shen, Paul Thwaite and Michelle Yong, and consultant Stephen Davis, were all recognised.

Thomson Reuters has conducted a global study of client nominated stand-out lawyers, who are included in its database which comprises more than 18,000 client-nominated lawyers in private practice.

Peter is a London-based partner in Stephenson Harwood’s marine and international trade team. He specialises in international litigation and arbitration, as well as commercial contracts focusing on the energy, commodity and international trade sectors.

Helena is a London-based partner in Stephenson Harwood's employment, pensions and private wealth team, specialising in contentious trusts, pensions and probate disputes, and is head of the firm's pensions dispute resolution practice. She acts for corporates, trustees, financial services firms, financial institutions, insurers and private individuals on complex high value pensions, probate and contentious trust disputes.

Rob is a London-based partner in Stephenson Harwood’s intellectual property (IP) team. He specialises in both contentious and non-contentious IP issues, with a particular focus on trade mark and copyright matters.

Ian is a London-based partner in Stephenson Harwood's finance team, and head of the firm's ship finance group. He is an expert in the asset finance sector, specialising in ship, offshore and superyacht finance.

Jenny is a London-based partner, and head of Stephenson Harwood's employment, pensions and private wealth practice. She acts for trustees, beneficiaries, corporates, financial services firms, financial institutions, insurers and private individuals on complex, high value, trust disputes in the private wealth, pensions, banking and financial services sectors.

Tom is a London-based partner, and head of Stephenson Harwood's corporate practice. Tom advises on IPOs and secondary issues (Main Market and AIM) both in London and internationally, public company takeovers, investment funds, domestic and cross border private M&A.

Tammy is a London-based partner in Stephenson Harwood's rail team, and head of the firm's finance practice. She is a leading commercial and regulatory rail expert, who advises on all aspects of the heavy and light rail markets both in the UK and internationally.

Nick is a Dubai-based partner in Stephenson Harwood’s dispute resolution team. He specialises in international arbitration, litigation and investigations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the U.S.

Penelope is a Hong Kong-based partner in Stephenson Harwood's international funds team. She advises hedge funds, venture capital, private equity funds, real estate funds, credit funds and QFI funds on a myriad of matters. From structuring and establishment in different jurisdictions and fund documentation, to management arrangements, trading/investment arrangements, and regulatory and compliance matters.

Paul is a London-based partner in Stephenson Harwood’s commercial litigation team, which he co-leads. He is a specialist in construction and engineering disputes and procurement claims, and advises on projects in the UK and around the world.

Michelle is a Singapore-based partner in Stephenson Harwood’s marine and international trade team. Being dual-qualified in both Singapore and England & Wales, she advises on international disputes, and acts in both English and Singapore arbitrations. Her core areas of specialisation are energy, shipping, international trade, and finance litigation.

Stephen is a London-based consultant in Stephenson Harwood’s commercial litigation team. He is a commercial lawyer specialising in complex litigations, commercial disputes and negotiations.
