Banking practice launched in Singapore with hire of Gregory Xu


Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its international finance practice with the appointment of consultant Gregory Xu, who will launch a general banking practice in Singapore.

Xu has extensive experience acting for financial institutions, funds, government agencies and companies. He advises in relation to structuring, documenting and re-structuring a combination of limited recourse and non-recourse syndicated and bilateral transactions in the fields of general/corporate, project, asset, trade, acquisition and leverage finance. He focuses on the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions and regularly acts for clients in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. Xu joins the firm from Clifford Chance.

Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance has a long-established reputation for the calibre of its shipping and aviation finance practices, and has more recently become known for its advice on English and – through its alliance partner, Virtus Law – Singaporean law for a wider spectrum of finance law, including restructuring and insolvency and structured finance.
