Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Snap-on Incorporated on its $31 million acquisition of Cognitran Limited.
Cognitran, which is based in Chelmsford, UK, specialises in ‘Software as a Service’ products for original equipment manufacturer customers and their dealers. Following the acquisition, Cognitran will be part of Snap-on’s Repair Systems & Information Group.
Founded in 1920, Snap-on is a $3.7 billion, S&P 500 company headquartered in Kenosha, Wisconsin. It is a global manufacturer and marketer of tools, equipment, diagnostics, repair information and systems solutions for professional users. Products and services include hand and power tools, tool storage, diagnostics software, information and management systems, shop equipment and other solutions for vehicle dealerships and repair centres. The company also serves customers in the aviation and aerospace, agriculture, construction, government and military, mining, natural resources, power generation and technical education industries.
