Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has appointed Rebecca Carter as the new managing partner of its London office.
"I'm excited that Rebecca has agreed to take on this new role and I look forward to working alongside her as we continue to focus on delivering our strategy and building a strong and thriving London office," said Stephenson Harwood chief executive Eifion Morris.
"Last year we launched our ambitious global strategy to double our revenue within five years. As a result of the hard work and effort that we've made to lay the right foundations during the last few years, we generated record revenue in FY23. My focus, alongside our talented and diverse global leadership team, is to continue to develop and grow our business to achieve our ambitions for profitable expansion. The time is therefore right for us to have a dedicated person – Rebecca – managing the operations of our London office."
Rebecca said: "It's a privilege to take on this role. I look forward to working with and supporting our London-based partners and the heads of business services to ensure we deliver client service and operational excellence."
Rebecca – whose practice is focused on energy and infrastructure projects – joined Stephenson Harwood as a partner in 2011. She joined the firm's global leadership team in 2020 when she was appointed head of the firm's real estate and projects practice group, a role she will continue.
As London managing partner, Rebecca will play a key role in creating a sustainable platform for profitable growth in the London office, as well as being a part of the global community of office managing partners, to collaborate and facilitate a 'one-firm' approach as the business continues to develop.
