Stephenson Harwood announces March trainee retention rates

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has announced that 11 of its 14 trainees who qualify in March 2024 have accepted permanent positions at the firm.

The firm has also offered associate positions to two paralegals who have qualified through the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) pathway, which was launched in September 2021. These are the first two newly qualified associates be offered permanent positions through the SQE route at Stephenson Harwood. All of the qualifying trainees will be based in London.

"It is rewarding to see the firm's commitment to recruiting, training and retaining exceptional legal talent pay off, with a retention rate just under 80%," said Max Lemanski, partner and trainee principal at Stephenson Harwood. "These trainees have completed a rigorous selection and training process, featuring complex cross-border work and international and client secondment opportunities. Their ability shows that they will be valuable additions to the firm as it continues to grow."

The newly qualified lawyers will join the firm's corporate, finance, commercial litigation, marine and international trade, real estate and projects, and employment, pensions, incentives and immigration practice groups.
