Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised private equity firm Triple P Capital on its acquisition of Contemi Solutions, and its controlling stake investment into The Praxis Company.
The transactions are the first for Triple P Capital's most recently established fund – the private equity impact fund – which targets financial service businesses in Southeast Asia. Contemi Solutions is a Norway-based insurance software and IT provider with subsidiaries in Singapore and Vietnam, and The Praxis Company is a Singapore-based start-up that uses gamification to improve financial literacy. The investments will support business development across the region, including Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, as well as expansion into Malaysia and other markets.
"The Stephenson Harwood team provided invaluable support, showing a genuine understanding of our investment needs as well as demonstrating the ability to project-manage a complex pair of transactions which involved various jurisdictions," said Alexander Krefft, partner & co-founder of Triple P Capital. "It was great to work with Tom's team on both deals, which mark an exciting step for Triple P's private equity impact fund, as we continue to support growth and development in the Southeast Asian region."
The Stephenson Harwood team for both deals was led by Singapore-based corporate partner Tom Platts, with assistance from associates Mark Stephens and Laura Baker, trainee Seth Crawley, Virtus Law partner Lauren Tang, senior associate Sheetal Sandhu and associate Yi Lei Tan.
