Stephenson Harwood advises Singapore Technologies Telemedia

International law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Singapore Technologies Telemedia Pte Ltd (ST Telemedia), a Singapore-based global investor, on a strategic investment in Virtus Data Centres, the UK's fastest growing data centre provider.

Under the partnership ST Telemedia, through its wholly owned subsidiary, STT GDC Pte. Ltd, will make a significant investment into Virtus, committing to a 49% stake via a joint venture with Virtus's existing owner Brockton Capital. The new investment from ST Telemedia will be used to fund Virtus's continued growth and footprint expansion in the UK.

ST Telemedia focuses on innovative communications, media and technology businesses. ST Telemedia has a track record of successfully building, growing and transforming businesses across the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas and Europe.

Stephenson Harwood advised on all aspects of the complex acquisition and the Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance provided ST Telemedia with Singaporean legal advice.

Andrew McLean, corporate partner at Stephenson Harwood commented "We are delighted to have advised ST Telemedia on this highly complex transaction. ST Telemedia is a new client for Stephenson Harwood and we were pleased to have been able to highlight our extensive knowledge of data centres, as well as deliver Singapore law advice via our alliance."

The Stephenson Harwood team was led by corporate partner Andrew McLean and real estate partner and data centre expert Simon Brading. They were assisted by senior corporate associate Rob Gray.
