Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised UK asset manager Schroders on the launch of its new £75 million investment trust, Schroders British Opportunities.
The trust – which seeks to provide cash for businesses which are able to grow, but need capital to do so – will invest in a diversified portfolio of both listed and private companies across a range of sectors. Environmental, social and governance engagement is an important part of the investment strategy, and the fund will focus on companies with sustainable business models. It will launch on 1 December and aim to provide a net asset value total return of 10% per year.
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by partner Alex Haynes, who was supported by senior associate Carolyn Hall and associate Daniel Whalen.
