Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised WatchBox on its joint venture with Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and WatchBox, to form WatchBox Middle East.
WatchBox, the US headquartered e-commerce platform for buying, selling and trading watches, and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, a UAE retailer of luxury watches and jewellery, have partnered to create WatchBox Middle East, which debuted in the region during Dubai Watch Week in November 2019. The joint venture consists of both a retail outlet in the Dubai International Financial Centre, and a regionally adapted website.
This was an exciting deal to work on and we were pleased to advise WatchBox, the market-leading e-commerce business, on its joint venture with Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the premier UAE luxury watch retailer,” said Sandeep Dhama, partner, Stephenson Harwood. “The aim of the partnership is to benefit from the region’s fast-growing, luxury pre-owned watches market and to revolutionise the segment in the region.
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by partner Sandeep Dhama, who was assisted by senior associate Toufic Safie.
Stephenson Harwood worked alongside US law firm Cozen O'Connor, who advised WatchBox on US law aspects of the matter.
