Stephenson Harwood advises ENGIE on Keepmoat acquisition

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised energy and services provider ENGIE on the £330 million acquisition of regeneration business Keepmoat from TDR and Sun Capital.

Keepmoat is a UK provider of regeneration services specialising in the design, refurbishment and upgrade of buildings and places, helping to transform communities and strengthen local economies.

This transaction will enable ENGIE to offer a complementary range of services to local governments, cities and businesses across the UK and strengthen its existing network of local authority partnerships.

This is the latest deal on which Stephenson Harwood has supported long term client ENGIE. Previous deals include advising the group on its acquisition of Lend Lease's and Balfour Beatty's UK facilities management businesses, the purchase of Keppel FMO in Singapore and Qatar and the acquisition of a 70 percent stake in RED Engineering, through global engineering company Tractebel, part of the ENGIE group.

The Stephenson Harwood team was led by partner Andrew Edge, head of the corporate practice, and included partners John Meehan (tax), Graeme Barton (projects) and Marta Garcia (competition) and corporate associates Charlotte Laing and Kate Hewitson.
