Law firm Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance has advised Duff & Phelps, a global valuation and corporate finance adviser, on its acquisition of Borrelli Walsh, a leading specialist restructuring, corporate recovery, insolvency and forensic accounting firm.

Founded in 2006, Borrelli Walsh – which has offices in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, India, the United Kingdom, British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands – has been involved in some of the largest restructurings, corporate collapses and investigations. This transaction will strengthen Duff & Phelps’ restructuring capabilities in Asia and the Caribbean, and further supports its overall growth strategy in the region.

The Stephenson Harwood team was led by Singapore-based partner Tom Platts, who was supported by senior associate Philippa English, associate Laura Baker and trainee Emily Lau. Singapore law advice was provided by partner Sheetal Sandhu, senior associate Peiguan Cai, and associates Lena Ow and Kelly Pang; Hong Kong law advice was provided by partner Jane Ng and associates Annie Mak and Charmaine Yuen; PRC law advice was provided by partner Zoe Zhou, associates Karen Wang and Ziwei Dong, and legal manager Candy Wang; and UK law advice was provided by partners Duncan Stiles, Naomi Leach and Marta Garcia, and associates James Day, Josh Billig, Oliver Hall, James Gracey, Sarah Bryant, and Will Spens.

The firm has previously advised Duff & Phelps on its acquisitions of Zolfo Cooper, Quantera Global, and RP Digital Security.
