Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised the Civis PFI/PPP Infrastructure Fund, which is owned by PGGM, on its acquisition of Amey PLC’s management services business.

Civis is an infrastructure investment manager that owns and operates a £220 million portfolio of health, education, accommodation and waste projects in UK and Ireland consisting largely of PPP/PFI concessions. Amey PLC is a UK-based infrastructure support service provider with a turnover of £2.1 billion, and its management services business operates numerous UK-based PPP/PFI special purpose vehicles for equity investors across a range of sectors. Civis acquired the business through its dedicated management services business Albany Infrastructure Management, a provider of general manager, financial control and company secretary services to PFI/PPP investments.

The Stephenson Harwood team was led by partners Jonathan Cripps and Ben Mercer, who were assisted by associate James Day. Projects advice was provided by senior associate Phil Harris and associate Jenna Plush, with additional input from tax partner John Meehan and senior associate Kate Worthington, commercial, outsourcing and technology partner Naomi Leach and associate Bobbie Bickerton and employment senior associate Richard Freedman.
