Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Agathos Management LLP, a lower mid-market private equity firm, on its majority investment in Simply Sustainable.

Founded in 2010, Simply Sustainable is a London-headquartered ESG and sustainability consultancy. It provides ESG and sustainability strategies, carbon services, ESG reporting, communications, and sustainable transformation programmes. Agathos' investment will help Simply Sustainable initiate its strategic growth plan to align a number of service lines and delivery channels.

Agathos is a growth-focussed investor that specialises in partnering with management teams on the development of businesses operating in fast-growing markets. It is currently deploying its second fund, launched in 2021, and Simply Sustainable is the third investment from that fund.

The Stephenson Harwood team was led by private equity partner Malcolm MacDougall, who was supported by private equity associates Isaac Paine, Sinnie Fung, Alicia Mueller and Matt Askew.
