Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance has advised Nordea Bank on a US$34.27 million secured loan facility to part finance three vessels acquired by BW Epic Kosan.
Of the three vessels acquired, two were part of a cash plus shares offer to Odfjell Gas Shipowning AS to acquire two 9,000 CBM ethylene carriers, Bow Guardian and Bow Gallant. This deal concludes Odfjell’s exit from the gas segment. BW Epic Kosan owns and operates a global fleet of gas carriers, which provide seaborne services for the transportation of liquefied petroleum gas and other speciality gases.
This transaction is the latest in a series of significant financings for BW Epic Kosan on which the team has advised. Previous matters include the US$155 million loan facility to part-finance Epic Gas Ltd's acquisition of Lauritzen Kosan's fleet of 17 owned-vessels to become BW Epic Kosan.
The Stephenson Harwood team comprised partner Iain Young and senior associate Pedram Norton. Singapore law advice was provided by Virtus Law partner Colin Jarraw, associate Constance Leong and paralegal Sylvia Lisa.
