Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its tax capabilities with the arrival of Olivier Couraud, who joins the firm’s corporate practice as a partner in Paris.
Couraud’s practice focuses primarily on corporate tax matters in connection with mergers and acquisitions, private equity and reorganisations, for corporate entities, as well as investment funds. In addition, he advises executives and founders on personal tax and wealth management issues, handles employee and management profit-sharing issues and assists clients with tax litigation. He will work closely with the finance practice on tax-driven leasings and financings.
"Olivier is an exceptional lawyer whose expertise strengthens our international tax capabilities," said Sharon White, the managing partner of Stephenson Harwood’s Paris office. "As our Paris office has grown, we've seen the demand for top tier tax advice grow too, and the addition of Olivier ensures we're able to provide the very best support to our clients. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, covering the tax aspects of a full range of work on which we advise clients from Paris."
Couraud joins the firm from Coblence avocats where he led the tax practice. He is often involved in tax reform projects and has contributed to the tax section of the Macron Law.
Stephenson Harwood's international tax practice advises clients on all aspects of tax, from business and company sales and group restructurings, through to real estate and financing transactions, funds, private wealth and tax disputes.
