Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its projects, energy and infrastructure practice with the arrival of Navpreet Atwal. She will join as a partner in the firm’s London office.
Navpreet is a non-contentious construction partner, who specialises in commercial and residential real estate, real estate finance, and energy and infrastructure projects. Navpreet works across a wide range of sectors, advising on procurement issues and providing project advisory support services, including pre-dispute and settlement advice. Her international client base includes ultra-high net worth individuals, families, companies, owners, developers, contractors, consultants, private equity investors, institutional lenders and challenger banks. Navpreet joins the firm from Boodle Hatfield where she was a partner and formerly head of the firm’s construction department.
"Growing our construction team is a key part of ensuring that we continue to respond to, and meet, the growing needs of our clients. It also supports our strategic expansion into more decarbonisation work – a key area of focus for the firm, and one which offers a lot of opportunities for construction work," said Rebecca Carter, partner and head of the firm's real estate and projects (REP) group. "Navpreet's arrival marks an exciting stage in this growth. Her global client base and broad experience complements our existing team, and enables us to take on additional international work, and work more closely with other practice areas and areas of focus – such as private capital and funds – assisting them with construction development advice and providing wider construction expertise across the firm."
Last year, Stephenson Harwood announced its five-year growth strategy, which set out the key areas of focus for the firm. These were decarbonisation, life sciences, private capital & funds, technology and transportation & trade, as well as the US. The projects, energy and infrastructure team sits within Stephenson Harwood's real estate and projects (REP) practice group but works closely with teams across the areas of focus.
With international expertise and broad experience in a wide range of commercial and residential property transactions and major global projects, the REP practice advises clients all over the world. The team provides a full service offering both for external clients and for other teams within the firm. From a major investment acquisition or disposal to a routine landlord and tenant matter, the team offers bespoke services and advice to clients throughout the lifespan of their transaction or project.
