Stephenson Harwood partner Kamal Shah has been named president of the London Court of International Arbitration's (LCIA) African Users' Council. Shah, who is a LCIA court member, has been the vice president of the African Users' Council for the past three years.
The LCIA is one of the world’s leading international institutions for commercial dispute resolution and has access to experienced arbitrators and mediators with expertise across many jurisdictions. In order to provide and maintain its services and to meet the needs of the international business community, the LCIA has formed Users' Councils which cover the major trading areas of the world.
Shah, head of Stephenson Harwood's Africa and India groups, specialises in complex, cross-border international arbitration, litigation, and fraud and asset tracing in Africa and India. He acts for governments, government entities, banks, private corporations and high net worth individuals in a range of matters.
