In Stephenson Harwood's latest hydrogen seminar and panel discussion we will be discussing with three UK market leading hydrogen producers how the UK can actually achieve its hydrogen targets by 2030 and 2050.

The panel will be giving their opinions on what is actually needed (and possible) on the production side and how to quickly and successfully build the consumer side. Given the recent publications issued by the UK Government in relation to hydrogen, this seminar shall be an interesting and insightful seminar for anyone involved or interested in hydrogen in the UK.

Octopus Hydrogen, Will Rowe - Will is Founder and CEO of Octopus Hydrogen. Octopus Hydrogen are enabling 100% renewable electricity grids by using green hydrogen production through electrolysis as a grid balancing tool and decarbonising heavy mobility through a green hydrogen as a service proposition.  Previously Will helped scale OVO and build the Kaluza platform.

Sizewell C, Shekhar Sumit - As part of the Sizewell C team, Shekhar is working on the energy transition, financing, and economic regulatory aspects of a proposed nuclear project at Suffolk, UK which will generate 3.2 GW (c. 7% of the UK's electricity) upon completion. Prior to this role, Shekhar was a London-based energy lawyer, advising his public / private sector clients on: (i) project development; (ii) mergers and acquisitions (M&A); and (iii) long-term commercial arrangements, in the energy sector.

Protium Green Solutions, Marco Dell-Aquila - Marco is Senior Adjunct Professor of Energy, Resources and Environment at the School of Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University. He is the CIO of Protium, a UK-based green hydrogen energy company and Chairman and co-founder of inspiratia.

Cathal Leigh-Doyle is a senior associate at Stephenson Harwood LLP and has been instructed on several hydrogen projects across the UK.

Cathal primarily acts for energy clients in disputes before the English courts as well as in international arbitrations.

Cathal routinely assists corporate clients across a broad range of contentious situations, in both a representative and advisory capacity, from internal investigations through to formal court or arbitral proceedings. He has also carries out settlement negotiations and mediations for his clients. Cathal is also frequently instructed on new commercial projects where he is engaged by clients to assist in negotiating and drafting contracts, especially relating to energy, construction and maritime projects.

While qualified and practicing in England and Wales, Cathal is triple jurisdiction qualified being also qualified to practise law in New York and Ireland. Cathal is also a guest law lecturer at Swansea University and Solent University in Southampton, United Kingdom.
