Dean Norton joins Stephenson Harwood as partner

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its global finance practice with the addition of partner Dean Norton in London.

Norton has more than 20 years of experience advising financiers, operators and investors in the shipping and offshore energy markets. He works for many of the leading international banks involved in shipping and offshore financings, and advises owners and operators in relation to the construction, financing and chartering of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier vessels and floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs), drilling rigs and specialised offshore units and equipment. Norton joins the firm from Clyde & Co, where he was a partner.

“Ship and offshore finance is a central facet of our international finance practice, and an area in which we are particularly well known,” said Sue Moore, head of finance, Stephenson Harwood. “As with any ambitious firm, we are always on the look-out for exceptional people to join our team, and Dean's unparalleled experience in shipping and offshore finance will make him a real asset to the team and wider firm. Most importantly, as the offshore market faces difficult times, Dean's expertise will enable us to support businesses looking to restructure their debt and put themselves in the best possible position to face the challenges ahead.”

Stephenson Harwood has an award-winning global ship and offshore finance team with more than 100 specialist lawyers working across the firm's offices in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
