In 2007, Stephenson Harwood launched an African secondee programme, to offer lawyers in Africa the opportunity to spend time with the firm in London and help provide an international perspective.
More than 60 lawyers from African firms in Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda have spent time at the firm during the past 12 years.
To celebrate this achievement, the firm has undertaken a series of interviews with some of the former secondees, in which they discuss their careers, what they learnt from their secondments, advice they would give aspiring lawyers and thoughts about the future of the legal profession in their countries.
