We have represented a number of corporates and governments in energy related disputes within the region. Our experts are able to draw support from the wider international group and offices.

Government of the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville)

Advised on contractual negotiations regarding the implementation of the EU forest law enforcement governance Trade Action Plan. These instructions follow successful representation in similar matters in Africa.

Exxon Exploration and Production and KBR, Chad

Acted in cases at the Supreme court level in relation the Doba Oil Project in Chad.

Comico (Oil SPA in the Cuvette region)

Advised in relation to shareholder disputes in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Oil major, Chad–Cameroon Petroleum Development and Pipeline Project

Represented a client before Chadian courts and the OHADA Common Court of Justice in Abidjan against numerous subcontractors in a £4.5 million commercial dispute in relation to the project.

International company, Chad and Democratic Republic of Congo

Involved in negotiations for the sale of gold mining exploration and production permits in Chad and the Democratic Republic of Congo

Private equity fund, Angola

Advised on a power project in Angola.

Subsahara Services Inc. (SSI), a KBR entity, Chad

Acted for SSI before the Chadian courts including at the Supreme Court level over claims filed by former employees asking for overtime payments and allegedly unpaid bonuses.

Private UK based oil company, Democratic Republic of Congo

Represented a client in a shareholders dispute before the courts of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) against a company party to an oil PSA with the government of the DRC.

Rig and port infrastructure, Gabon

Advising the project vehicle on a port and rig refurbishment facility to be constructed on a Greenfield site in Gabon.
