Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has introduced a new target: by 2025 the firm aims for 35% of its partners globally to be women.
"The proportion of women in our partnership continues to increase, and it's now reached 28.5% globally," said Stephenson Harwood chief executive, Eifion Morris. "We have made good progress over the last two years on women in leadership roles in the firm. From next month more than half of the UK Leadership Team will be women and we also have a good gender balance across our global leadership team. Over the last three years, our internal promotions to partner have been balanced, and we've focused on making sure that we attract more women to join the firm as partners.
"While we're pleased with the progress we've made, we still have a long way to go in achieving our ambitions. That's why we want to keep up the momentum and accelerate progress where we can. Setting a target that 35% of our partners globally will be women by 2025 will help us to focus our efforts and achieve that."
