Tim acts for creditors, debtors, insolvency officeholders and trustees on all (non-litigious) aspects of financial restructurings and formal insolvency proceedings.  He has significant experience of complex, cross-border restructurings in addition to having acted on various domestic cases.

Tim has extensive restructuring experience across a broad range of sectors (particularly automotive, shipping, real estate, oil and gas, and retail).  He acts for stakeholders at all levels of the capital structure – debtors, directors, bank and bond creditors, distressed investors, sponsors, insolvency officeholders and trustees/agents – and has worked on cases covering the full spectrum of restructuring from distressed refinancings through to debt reductions and compositions, and formal insolvency proceedings.

Fintyre

Acting for the super-senior RCF lenders on the debt restructuring and accompanying insolvency proceedings of the Fintyre group with facilities of c.€300 million.

Marme Inversiones

Acting for the senior lenders on the 7 year, c.€3 billion restructuring and insolvency proceedings of Marme, the Spanish vehicle that acquired Santander’s headquarters building through a sale and leaseback transaction. 

Interpipe Limited

Acting for the bank and bond creditors on the write down and synthetic equitisation of part of Interpipe’s c.US$1.4 billion indebtedness and the amendment and restatement of the residual amounts.

Sea Trucks

Acting for the debtor and its provisional liquidators on the structured enforcement sale of the group’s major vessels to a bondholder newco and settlement of the disputes with the shareholder.

Citadel Capital SAE

Acting for the lenders on the attempted rescheduling, over 7 years, of a US$300 million loan (partly guaranteed by DFC (previously OPIC)) to the Egyptian private equity company.

Global Investment House

Acting for the lender co-ordinating committee on the restructuring of the Kuwaiti investment company’s c.US$1.7 billion liabilities implemented through a scheme of arrangement and a synthetic debt to equity swap.

KCA Deutag (first restructuring)

Acting for the sponsor, Pamplona Capital, on the restructuring of KCAD’s c.US$2 billion loan debt. A debt equitisation and the injection of US$550 million of new money was completed within 6 months.

Sahara Grosvenor House Hospitality

Acting for partners in Deloitte as administrators of SGHH, a distressed real estate (hotel) acquisition.
