Sonali is an associate in the banking team.  She works on a range of investment and development financing transactions within the real estate finance sector, as well as on general corporate lending transactions, acting for both lenders and borrowers.

Sonali trained at Stephenson Harwood and qualified in September 2018 into the banking and real estate finance team. She has experience in acting for leading financial institutions and banks and corporates in relation to a range of finance transactions with a particular focus on real estate finance transactions involving hotels, office spaces and other commercial properties. Sonali also has a range of experience in leveraged and acquisition finance transactions.

International bank

Acted for an international bank on its initial Canadian $82,000,000 cross-border acquisition financing of six private hospitals in England followed by a further Canadian $125,000,000 acquisition financing of four additional private hospitals.

National Pension Service of Korea, £700 million acquisition financing of Plumtree Court

Advised the National Pension Service of Korea on the £700 million acquisition financing in relation to the £1.2 billion acquisition of Goldman Sachs' new European headquarters at Plumtree Court, which was the largest single asset real estate financing in the UK in 2019. This was a complex cross-border financing involving close co-operation between lawyers in the UK, Luxembourg and Jersey.

Barings Real Estate Advisers and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company 

Regularly advising Barings Real Estate Advisers and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, including in relation to a £34.7 million development financing in Salford which involved closely working with lawyers in the UK, Guernsey, Jersey and Cayman Islands.
