Samuel regularly advises ship owners, operators, charterers, banks, shipyards, logistics companies, traders and P&I clubs. He often provides professional advice on second-hand ship sale and purchase, shipbuilding contracts, charter parties, ship management contracts, commodity trade contracts, bills of lading and logistics contracts. Samuel is also experienced in shipping and commercial arbitration, both ad hoc and institutional, such as LMAA, HKIAC and CMAC. In addition, Samuel regularly advises on legal compliance in the context of cross-border transactions, such as conducting legal due diligence, debt recovery, enforcement of maritime claims and arbitration awards, etc. He also regularly advises on cross-border guarantees or bonds, including refund guarantees and performance bonds.
Samuel participated in the "Lord Chancellor's Training Scheme for Young Chinese Lawyers 2010/11" in London and trained at an English shipping firm as well as a prestigious barristers' Chambers. He is fluent in Mandarin and English.
