Peter has practised intellectual property law for nearly 30 years and specialises in all contentious and non-contentious aspects of IP including patents, trademarks, designs, copyright and trade secrets, as well as related anti-trust aspects of IP disputes and agreements.

Peter has a wealth of experience and has handled many cases before the English High Court as well as appeals to the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court, the Privy Council and the Court of Justice for the European Union.

Peter has also conducted ICC and JCAA (Japanese Commercial Arbitration Association) arbitrations involving IP disputes and has been responsible for co-ordinating multi- jurisdictional proceedings for clients and advising on litigation strategy.

Although, Peter's focus has been primarily on IP litigation and dispute resolution, he also has extensive experience of non-contentious IP and general advisory work.

His non-contentious practice has included handling the IP aspects of large and high profile M&A transactions as well as stand- alone licensing, franchising, sponsorship, naming rights and other exploitation agreements and general IP counselling work.

He has acted in the following high profile patent cases: Rediffusion Simulation v Link Miles, Coflexip v Stolt Offshore, Mayne Pharma v Pharmacia.

Advised one of the world’s leading manufacturers of play materials on all of its UK IP issues, including copyright infringement and counterfeiting issues.

Woodward Inc. 

Advised the world’s leading manufacturer of energy control solutions in relation to a copyright dispute arising out of the manufacture and sale of governors by a UK company to customers in the Far East.

Malaysia Dairy Industries 

Advising Malaysia Dairy Industries on its long-running dispute with Yakult in relation to a non-traditional trade mark.
