Michelle is a managing associate in the corporate team, specialising in private M&A, joint ventures and equity fundraising within a broad range of sectors, with specific focus on the life sciences, technology and green tech industries.

Michelle has particular expertise in the life sciences industry, having spent time on secondment to FTSE 250 company BTG plc (since acquired by Boston Scientific), and Astellas Pharma.

Michelle's recent experience includes acting for: e-therapeutics plc on its £12.4million equity fundraise; a life sciences company on its divestment of a legacy product; a seller on their sale of their stake in a London REIT for £436 million; AIM listed Focusrite plc on its acquisition of Linea Research Holdings; Anglia Maltings on their entry into a three way joint venture with Frontier Agriculture and Camgrain; Highview Power on their growth capital round which totalled $70 million; the sellers of Arcola Energy on their sale to Canadian listed company Ballard Power Systems; CLS Group on the sale of Future Climate Info to Canadian listed Dye & Durham; 3 Step IT on its strategic partnership with BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions to create a leading integrated IT leasing business across various European jurisdictions; and various early stage companies and VC funds on equity funding rounds (from Series A onwards).

  • Future Climate Info to Dye & Durham Corporation for £55 million; and
  • CLS Risk Solutions to Specialist Risk Group.

Trafalgar Entertainment

Advising Trafalgar Entertainment Group on its acquisitions of:

  • HQ Theatres; and 
  • the Helen O'Grady drama academy.

Focusrite plc

Advising Focusrite plc on its acquisition of Linea Research Holdings.

Arcola Energy

Advised the sellers of Arcola Energy, a systems engineering company, on the company's acquisition by Canadian listed company Ballard Power Systems. Ballard acquired 100% of Arcola for total upfront and earn-out cash and share consideration of up to US$40 million, based on the achievement of certain performance milestones.

Arthur J Gallagher & Co. 

Advising Arthur J Gallagher & Co. on its acquisition of specialist insurance broker The Bollington Wilson Group.

Focusrite plc

Advising AIM listed Focusrite plc on its acquisition of Linea Research Holdings.

BTG plc

Advising on BTG plc's £160 million joint underwritten cash box placing in connection with the acquisition of PneumRx, Inc.

3 Step IT strategic partnership with BNP Paribas

Advising Finnish-based 3 Step IT on its strategic partnership with BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions to create a leading integrated IT leasing business across various European jurisdictions.

Anglia Maltings

Advising Anglia Maltings on a three way joint venture with Frontier Agriculture (a JV between ABF and Cargill) and Camgrain (a farmer owned cooperative) to create Europe's largest oat processing plant.
