Lydia is a shipping lawyer and specialises in resolving disputes. She draws from her experience of London arbitration and High Court litigation to advise clients on all aspects of shipping, salvage and marine insurance, and deliver practical advice that aligns with her clients' commercial objectives.

Lydia acts for shipowners, charterers, cargo interests, insurers and salvors, internationally, in relation to a range of disputes arising mainly out of charterparties, bills of lading, sale and purchase contracts and LOFs.

In particular, she advises on disputes relating to off-hire, laytime and demurrage, unsafe ports, off-spec bunker allegations, cargo claims and sale and purchase contracts following the sale. Her work extends to obtaining injunctions, ship arrests and attachments, as well as conducting sale and purchase transactions. On the admiralty side, she handles salvage claims with a focus on the salvage of historical wrecks.

She has experience in arbitration, High Court and Court of Appeal litigation, and her reported cases include Argentum Exploration Limited v. The Silver (The "SS Tilawa") [2020] EWHC 3434 (Admlty) and Herculito Maritime Ltd and others v. Gunvor International BV and others (the “POLAR”) [2021] EWCA Civ 1828.
