Laura is an associate in commercial litigation who advises on a broad range of commercial disputes for international clients.

Laura has worked on a number of cases in the Commercial Court, with particular experience of litigation related to arbitration proceedings. 

She has advised a variety of international clients, including state entities, banks and corporates. 

Laura’s high profile experience includes acting for Nigeria's national oil company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), in a long-running dispute with IPCO (Nigeria) Ltd in the Commercial Court. In 2017, she was involved in NNPC’s successful appeal to the Supreme Court and, in 2019, she was part of the team which won “Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team of the Year” for their work on the case.

Acting for Nigeria’s national oil company, defending the enforcement of a US$400 million arbitration award in the Commercial Court.

Acting in various proceedings relating to the enforcement of high value international arbitration awards in England and Wales.

Acting for banks in claims involving allegations of mis-selling foreign currency loans, and managing debt recovery proceedings.

Property group dispute

Acting for family members and related companies in a dispute with another family member and companies in their control in a claim involving allegations of misappropriation and breach of fiduciary duty.
