Isobel is an associate in our London ship finance team specialising in cross-border ship finance transactions with particular expertise in sale and purchase transactions.

Isobel advises banks, financial institutions, lessors and ship owners in relation to cross-border ship finance matters. Her experience includes ship sale and purchases, shipbuilding contracts and construction, portfolio acquisitions and disposals, ship registrations, ship recycling, enforcements and warehousing transactions.

Having previously lived and worked in the United States, Canada, France and Belgium, Isobel has experience working in various professional cultures. She regularly collaborates with Stephenson Harwood's overseas offices and was recently seconded for six months to the Paris office where she assisted with a variety of transactions including French tax leasing structures.

Isobel was also seconded for a year to a major ship owner's legal department where she worked closely with Chinese and Korean shipyards and world-leading banks to coordinate the purchase and financing of fleets of newbuild tankers and bulk carriers on behalf of two NYSE-listed companies. Isobel's secondments gave her valuable commercial experience that she applies to the matters on which she advises.

Isobel is the Chair of the Shipping Professional Network in London (SPNL).
