Benefiting from his experience as in-house counsel for some of the leading Chinese leasing companies, Isaac has in-depth understanding of the developing structures and requirements of Chinese leasing and financing arrangements. He also keeps a close watch on the regulatory and compliance surroundings of the Chinese lessors and financiers.
Prior to his in-house experience, Isaac was a member of an international law firm with Norwegian origin, where he represented international shipowners, insurers and Chinese shipyards in hundreds of disputes and marine casualties including a number of high-profile cases in the Chinese courts.
Isaac's practice also includes ship collision, pollution, salvage, general average as well as other complex maritime and trade issues. He is also following trends of technology and compliance in the global shipping and offshore industries such as data protection, decarbonization and blockchain.
Isaac is a native Shanghainese speaker and is fluent in English and Mandarin.
